Basile Uomo Intense

Basile Uomo Intense, released by the Italian brand Basile in 2020, is a citrus scent for men with a warm, spicy underside. Everyone who has described it calls it citrusy, and about half also find it spicy, aromatic or ambery.

Grapefruit and mandarin open the fragrance, the grapefruit bitter and sharp, the mandarin sweeter and rounder, so the citrus has both bite and juice. Mint cuts through them with a cool, herbal freshness that gives the aromatic impression and keeps the opening lively. Cinnamon then changes the mood, adding a dry, warm, slightly sweet spice that sits in contrast to the cool fruit, and amber at the base supplies a resinous, lasting warmth.

The structure is simple and the contrast is the point: cold citrus and mint on top, warm spice and amber underneath. That makes it flexible across spring and autumn, fresh enough for the day and warm enough to last into an evening.
