Free Spirit from Ajmal is a spicy, woody citrus for men, released in 2019. Everyone who has described it calls it spicy, most find it woody and citrusy, and a minority add an aromatic side.
The notes come in a single list. Grapefruit and bergamot provide a bright, slightly bitter opening; pepper, nutmeg and cardamom bring a dry, warm spiciness, with cardamom adding a cool, green freshness; basil contributes a herbal, kitchen-garden lift; and guaiac wood with sandalwood forms the base, guaiac smoky and slightly tarry, sandalwood creamy and smooth. There is no sweetness listed, so the scent stays dry and brisk throughout.
No wear reports have been collected, so longevity and sillage are unknown. A peppery grapefruit and wood scent of this kind is well suited to daytime and the office across spring, summer and autumn, and would fit a man who likes freshness with a spicy backbone rather than a sweet one.
