Oud-Couture

From the Danish house ZARKOPERFUME, Oud-Couture (2016) is a woody, peppery fragrance that most wearers describe as spicy as well, with citrus noted by about half and sweet or floral facets by a minority. It is worn by anyone.

Mandarin and bergamot give a bright, juicy opening that softens the usually heavy oud. Black pepper and cardamom supply the spice, dry and warm rather than hot. The woods are the point: oud for depth, palisander rosewood for a smooth, slightly floral polish, sandalwood for creaminess, and vetiver for a rooty, earthy dryness. Orange blossom adds a faint white-flower sweetness and vanilla rounds off the base.

There are no community reports yet on how long it lasts or how far it carries. Woody-spicy scents of this kind are usually at their best in cool weather and in the evening, and the citrus top makes it less heavy than the name suggests.
