Hardcore Rose

Hardcore Rose from Victoria's Secret, released in 2019, is a dark, sweet rose for women. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, and about half add gourmand and amber, which points to a rose that is jammy and warm rather than fresh or dewy.

The notes are given without a formal pyramid, so the order of development is not recorded, but the cast is small and clear. Rose and a so-called black rose form the centre, the latter suggesting a deeper, more velvety and less green reading of the flower. Plum adds a ripe, slightly boozy fruitiness that leans the scent towards sweetness, and amber brings a warm, resinous glow underneath.
