Chi

Chi, created by Paolo Terenzi for Tiziana Terenzi in 2022, is a gourmand with an earthy edge. Sweetness leads, and a fair share of people also note wood.

The opening is soft and creamy: almond, milk and caramel give a nutty, milky sweetness, with coffee adding a roasted warmth. The twist is truffle and earthy notes, which bring a damp, savoury, mushroom-like depth that keeps the sweetness from feeling simple. The base is rich and dark, with Indian and Cambodian oud for a dry, smoky wood, patchouli and cypriol for an earthy, rooty darkness, and vanilla, vanilla flower and tonka bean for a creamy, rounded sweetness.

Chi is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and cosy occasions, and should appeal to people who enjoy unusual gourmands that pair dessert notes with truffle and oud for a darker, more grown-up feel.
