Uno

Uno is a 1986 fragrance from the Italian house Roccobarocco, made for women, and it has the generous structure of its decade. Everyone who describes it calls it floral; about half add citrus, a third sweet or woody, and a minority musky or ambery.

The notes are listed without stages but suggest a classic chypre-floral. Bergamot, mandarin and yellow mandarin open bright, with peach adding a soft, velvety fruit. The heart is a full bouquet: jasmine and jasmine sambac for richness, ylang-ylang for creamy sweetness, orange blossom for a honeyed edge, and hyacinth with lily of the valley for a green, dewy freshness. Oakmoss and patchouli give the base a dry, bitter, earthy depth, while sandalwood, vanilla, amber and musk soften and warm it.
