Soul Of Oud by Ramon Monegal is a woody fragrance released in 2017, composed by Ramon Monegal himself and worn by anyone. Most wearers also find it spicy and floral, and a third notice sweet, ambery or leathery facets.
The notes are given as one group. Coriander and nutmeg open it with a dry, warm spice. Osmanthus and rose make up the floral middle, osmanthus bringing an apricot-like, slightly leathery sweetness and rose a soft richness. Agarwood is the centre, smoky and resinous, supported by cedar and birch, which add a dry, tar-like smokiness, and vetiver for earth. Dark chocolate gives a bitter sweetness, and amber, cypriol and musk warm and soften the base.
Oud, smoke and dark chocolate is firmly a cold-weather, evening profile, and suits anyone comfortable with a rich, dark scent. Community reports on longevity and sillage are not yet available.
