Craft & Glamour

Craft & Glamour from the British house Miller Harris, released in 2019 and worn by anyone, is a woody scent with a sweet, rosy heart. Woody is the word everyone uses; about half also call it sweet and floral, and a quarter find it resinous, ambery or citrusy.

Bergamot and pink pepper give a brief, bright, peppery start. Plum then adds a dark, ripe fruitiness that sweetens the rose and rose oil at the centre, so the flower reads jammy rather than fresh. The base is where most of the weight sits: cashmere wood and sandalwood for soft, creamy warmth, patchouli for earth, labdanum for a sticky resinous depth, and tonka bean, musk and ambroxan to round it into something smooth and long-wearing on skin.

Wearers have not yet reported on longevity or projection. By character it suits autumn and winter, evenings and smarter occasions, and anyone who likes rose carried by dark woods rather than standing alone.
