Deep Forest

Deep Forest is a woody fragrance with a strong floral streak, backed by amber, citrus, a little spice and a hint of leather. It is by the French house Mancera and came out in 2019.

It opens darker than many Mancera scents: oud and leather sit beside incense and cloves, while orange and bergamot stop it from feeling heavy. The heart is a rose and violet arrangement, with orange blossom adding a soft sweetness and patchouli keeping the earthy, forest-floor tone. The base rounds everything off with vanilla, amber, vetiver and white musk over a cushion of woods, so the drydown is warm and smooth rather than smoky.

It is a shared scent and worn by anyone. There are no community votes yet on longevity, sillage or season, but a composition this resinous and woody points towards autumn and winter wear, evenings out, and people who like rose when it is wrapped in oud and incense rather than kept fresh.
