Terra by Maison Alhambra, released in 2022, is first and foremost a woody fragrance. Everyone who describes it reaches for the word woody; about a third also mention sweetness, flowers, resin, amber or citrus, which gives an idea of how many directions the wood is pulled in.
The notes are given as a single list rather than a pyramid. Bergamot supplies a fresh citrus lift at the start, and jasmine a soft floral touch. Cypress and cedar form the dry, slightly green woody core, with vetiver adding an earthy, rooty dryness. Against that, caramel brings a burnt-sugar sweetness, labdanum a warm, resinous depth, and amber and musk round the base into something smooth and lasting.
Terra is a shared fragrance, worn by anyone. The weight of resin, caramel and wood suggests it is more at home in autumn and winter, and in the evening, than on a warm day. It is currently offered in a 50 ml size.
