Ambra

Ambra by Le Couvent Maison de Parfum, created by Jean-Claude Ellena in 2021, is resinous and citrus in equal measure.

The composition has only three notes, in keeping with Ellena's minimalist style. Bergamot gives a bright, slightly bitter citrus lift that keeps the opening airy. Labdanum, the resin of the cistus shrub, forms the core: warm, honeyed, slightly leathery and ambery, it gives the scent its glow. Immortelle adds a distinctive warm, honeyed, slightly curry-like and hay-like note that deepens the labdanum and gives it a sun-dried, Mediterranean feel.

Ambra is shared and can be worn by anyone. It suits autumn and winter, but its transparency also makes it pleasant on cool spring evenings and for daytime wear. It should appeal to people who like amber in a light, clear and natural style rather than a heavy, sweet or vanilla-rich one. It works well as a quiet, everyday warm scent.
