Musamam

Musamam is a warm, aromatic amber-wood from Lattafa Perfumes, released in 2022 for anyone to wear. People describe it as woody and ambery in equal measure, and about half also find it spicy, floral, aromatic or citrusy.

Italian mandarin gives the opening a sweet, bright citrus, lavender a clean herbal freshness, and saffron a warm, slightly leathery spice, so the first minutes are both fresh and warm. The heart is drier and more structured: Virginia cedar brings a pencil-like dry wood, amberwood a smooth, resinous warmth, and geranium a rosy, slightly green floral edge. The base is where it deepens, with labdanum adding a dark, balsamic amber, incense a dry, smoky, resinous note, and akigalawood a peppery, patchouli-like woodiness that lasts.
