Sacreste

Sacreste by Laboratorio Olfattivo, composed by Luca Maffei in 2018, is spicy and woody in equal measure, with amber noticed by most people, resin by about half, and a smaller musky side.

The opening is peppery and bright: black pepper adds bite, cardamom a cool aromatic spice and saffron a warm, leathery glow. Incense and elemi then bring the smoke of a sacristy, cool and slightly lemony, joined by labdanum and other resins for a deep, honeyed warmth. The woods form a dry, solid frame of cedar, Virginia cedar, guaiac wood and cypriol, ranging from pencil-shaving crispness to soft smoke, while cashmeran, amber and musk keep the finish smooth.

It is shared and can be worn by anyone. Sacreste fits autumn and winter, evenings, quiet reflection and smart occasions, and it suits people who like incense scents with plenty of pepper and dry wood.
