L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge Ultime is the 2023 Givenchy edition that takes the L'Interdit white flowers somewhere darker, again from Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal. It remains a floral above all, with about half of wearers calling it woody and a minority picking up aromatic and amber tones.
Rather than fruit, the opening is already floral: Tunisian orange blossom and neroli with jasmine sambac, bright and slightly honeyed. The heart pairs Indian tuberose, creamy and heady, with cacao pod, which brings a dry, bitter cocoa note rather than milk chocolate sweetness. The base is tobacco, Indonesian patchouli leaf and Haitian vetiver for a smoky, earthy drydown, lifted by the clean warmth of ambroxan.
