First Class Explorer

First Class Explorer by Etienne Aigner, composed by Dominique Preyssas and released in 2018, is a masculine fragrance with three strong sides: everyone who describes it calls it spicy, woody and floral, about two thirds add sweet and citrusy, and a third find it ambery.

The long list is not split into stages. Grapefruit, pink grapefruit and mandarin open bright and bitter-sweet, with pink pepper and cardamom adding a fizzy, aromatic spice and nutmeg a warmer one. The heart is more floral than most men's scents: rose, violet and jasmine together give a soft, slightly powdery roundness. Cedar and vetiver dry it down into clean wood, patchouli adds earth, tonka bean a sweet, almond-like warmth, and ambergris with musk a salty, skin-like finish.

Community data on longevity and sillage is not yet available. The balance of citrus, spice and sweet wood makes it adaptable across seasons, and it suits a man who wants something dressier than a sports scent without heaviness.
