Tabac Noir

Tabac Noir is a woody, ambery tobacco scent from the French house Caron, composed by Jean Jacques and released in 2019. It is worn by anyone. Everyone who has described it calls it woody, most find it ambery, and a minority pick out leather and a sweet, gourmand side.

The notes are listed without stages. Bulgarian light tobacco and white tobacco set the tone: dry, slightly hay-like leaf rather than cigar smoke. Honey gives it a sticky sweetness, leather and styrax add a dark, resinous depth, and Indonesian patchouli leaf with cedar keeps the base earthy and dry. Ambroxan lends the warm, salty glow that helps the whole thing carry on skin.

Wear reports have not been gathered yet, so longevity and sillage are unknown. Honeyed tobacco and leather of this kind usually come into their own in autumn and winter and after dark, and suit someone who likes a warm scent with a slightly bitter edge. It is available in 30 ml and 50 ml sizes.
