Italian lemon and lemon give the opening a bright, sharp sparkle, while nutmeg, including Indonesian nutmeg, adds a soft, warm spice. Violet leaf brings a crisp, green, cucumber-like note, clary sage an herbal softness and cypress a dry, coniferous greenness. The heart is leather, smooth and slightly smoky, framed by frankincense's dry haze. The base is rich and resinous: labdanum, including Spanish labdanum, gives a sticky, ambery depth, patchouli an earthy richness, nagarmotha a smoky, rooty note, and tonka bean and cashmeran a sweet, woolly finish.
