Berlin Soul

Berlin Soul by Birkholz, from 2017, is a woody fragrance with a noticeable gourmand side and hints of musk, flowers, herbs and amber.

It opens on whiskey and hazelnut, a warm, boozy and nutty pairing that sets an intimate tone straight away. The heart is rich in woods: sandalwood for creaminess, cedar and vetiver for dry, smoky structure, and agarwood (oud) for a darker, resinous depth, with tobacco adding a sweet, leafy note and iris a touch of cool, powdery elegance. The base rests on patchouli, tonka bean, amber and musk, which bring earthiness, almond-like sweetness and a soft, warm finish.
