Odyssey Aoud

Odyssey Aoud from Armaf, released in 2023 for men, is a woody oud with a spicy edge. Everyone who describes it calls it woody, about half add spicy, and a minority find it musky, aromatic or amber, so the oud here is softened and made approachable rather than raw.

The notes come as a single list. Lavender gives a clean, aromatic opening that makes the scent feel less dense than many ouds. Saffron and nutmeg add a warm, dry, slightly leathery spice in the middle. Agarwood is the centre, resinous and faintly medicinal, framed by patchouli for earth and woody notes for structure. Ambroxan and musk round off the base with a smooth, mineral, long-lasting warmth and a clean, skin-like finish.

Wear reports are still building. Its character suits cooler weather and evenings, and someone who wants to try an oud in a masculine, modern style without committing to anything too heavy or challenging.
