The top is fresh and unusual: mate gives a dry, grassy tea note, pomelo a juicy, slightly bitter citrus, and litchi a sweet, rosy fruit that leads naturally into the heart. There, red rose is the main character, rich and velvety, supported by iris for a cool, powdery elegance and lily for a clean, slightly spicy white-flower note. The base is darker: agarwood gives a dry, smoky oud, labdanum a honeyed, leathery resin and amber a warm glow.
Midnight Rose is shared and can be worn by anyone. As the name suggests, it leans towards the evening, suiting dinners, nights out and the cooler seasons. It should appeal to people who like a modern rose with a fresh start and a dark, resinous finish.
