Oud & Spice

Oud & Spice is a spiced woody fragrance for men from Acqua di Parma, released in 2021. Spice is the word everyone uses; most also find it woody, and about a third notice sweetness, floral, resinous or citrus facets.

The notes are listed together. Bergamot and pink pepper give a short, bright opening before the spices take over: cinnamon brings warm sweetness, cloves a sharper, medicinal heat. Raspberry adds a tart, jammy fruitiness that sits well against the rose, which is present but restrained rather than the main event. Agarwood and patchouli give the woody depth, dark and slightly earthy, and labdanum closes it with a sweet, resinous, faintly leathery warmth.

By character this is an autumn and winter fragrance, best in the evening or on cold days, and it is a relatively approachable take on oud: the spice and fruit do more of the talking than the wood itself. It suits men who want warmth and a bit of Eastern character without anything too challenging.
