Black cherry and orange open with a dark, juicy fruitiness, sweet and slightly tart, fitting the ruby of the name. The heart is a bouquet of rose, violet and freesia, with heliotrope adding a soft, almond-like powder. In the base, Haitian vetiver gives a dry, earthy woodiness, patchouli an earthy depth, and Peru balsam a warm, sweet, balsamic resin.
Its fruity, powdery woods suit autumn and winter, evenings and special occasions. It should appeal to someone who likes dark cherry and rose set against earthy vetiver and patchouli, rather than light, fresh or purely sweet fragrances, and who enjoys a scent with a rich, jewel-like colour.
