Culot Thé

Culot Thé is a spicy, woody floral with a green tea heart and a few deliberately odd touches, released by the French house Versatile Paris in 2022 and composed by Anne-Sophie Behaghel. It is worn by anyone.

Bergamot and mandora give a bright citrus start, sharpened by ginger, wasabi and pink pepper, which bring a green, nose-tingling heat. Black tea is the centre, tannic and slightly smoky, with a hint of garlic adding a savoury, sulphurous edge that reads as intriguing rather than unpleasant. Osmanthus, jasmine and geranium add a soft, apricot-tinged floral layer around the tea. Vetiver, amyris and musk form a dry, woody, lightly smoky base, with sesame giving a toasted, nutty finish.

It suits spring and autumn and daytime wear. Anyone who likes tea scents with spice and a bit of mischief should find it worth trying.
