Golden Wood is a sweet citrus with a honeyed, woody base, released by the French house The Harmonist in 2020 and composed by Guillaume Flavigny. It is worn by anyone.
Mandarin, bergamot and bitter orange open it with a bright, sunny citrus, joined by pear for a crisp, juicy sweetness. The heart turns golden: beeswax gives a honeyed, slightly waxy warmth, and tonka bean an almondy, hay-like sweetness. The base is woody, with oak bringing a dry, slightly smoky, whisky-barrel quality, guaiac wood a sweet smokiness, and cabreuva a smooth, slightly floral woodiness.
It suits autumn and spring and daytime or evening wear. Anyone who likes citrus with a warm, honeyed, oaky finish, brighter than an amber but warmer than a cologne, should find it rewarding.
