Black Amber, released by the Italian brand Rephase in 2019, is mainly woody, with a strong gourmand side and smaller citrus, spicy and amber touches.

The opening is fruity and bright: bergamot gives a fresh citrus lift, while pear and plum bring juicy, ripe sweetness. Cinnamon adds a warm, sweet spice, and honey a golden, slightly animalic sweetness that gives much of the gourmand character. The base is dark and woody: agarwood, or oud, brings a smoky, resinous woodiness, guaiac wood a smoky, earthy depth, and vanilla a warm, creamy finish.

The profile suggests autumn and winter, evenings and social occasions where a dark, sweet woody scent fits. It is meant to be worn by anyone who likes honeyed oud and smoky woods softened by ripe fruit and vanilla, and who enjoys warm, enveloping fragrances rather than fresh or light ones.
