Layton Exclusif is a 2017 fragrance from Parfums de Marly, composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani. Sweetness and woods lead equally, with florals and citrus close behind and spicy, fresh accents.

The opening is bright and juicy: mandarin orange, grapefruit and bergamot give citrus zest, apple a crisp sweetness, almond a nutty softness and watery notes a fresh lift. The heart is floral and spicy, with rose, gardenia and water lily for richness, lavender and geranium for an aromatic edge, cinnamon for warmth and civet for a subtle animalic depth. The base is dense and rich in texture, with oud, guaiac wood and leather for dark woods, coffee for roasted warmth, and vanilla, amber, patchouli and sandalwood for a sweet, smooth finish.

Most wearers report it as long lasting, some far longer, with a sillage that is strong to moderate. It is voted for winter and autumn and favours evening wear. It suits formal nights and anyone who likes rich, sweet, oud-tinged compositions. It is worn by anyone.
