The opening is sharp and unusual: anise gives a liquorice-like spice, aldehydes a cool, metallic sparkle and almond a nutty sweetness. The heart is rose, soft and velvety. The base is dark and dense, with leather and oud bringing a smoky, slightly barnyard depth, musk an animalic skin note, heliotrope an almond-like powder, vanilla a creamy sweetness and cedar a dry woodiness.
