Un Poivre by Obvious is, as the name implies, a fragrance built around pepper: spicy above all, with a light woody base and a hint of green. Composed by Anne-Sophie Behaghel and Amélie Bourgeois, it was released in 2020.

Black pepper and pink pepper give a dry, crackling, slightly fruity spice from the first moment. Ginger adds a fresh, zesty heat, while cinnamon and caraway bring a warmer, sweeter, faintly aniseed tone. Violet leaf contributes a cool, green, slightly cucumber-like note that keeps the spice fresh. In the base, Haitian vetiver and amyris give a dry, earthy, softly woody finish.

Worn by anyone, it suits spring and autumn, daytime wear and the office, where its clean spice feels lively without being heavy. People who enjoy pepper as a main theme, rather than as a background accent, will find it a direct and honest take on the note.
