Unutamam

Unutamam by Nishane, composed by Miguel Matos in 2019 and worn by anyone, is a herbal, animalic fougère with serious strength. Everyone describes it as aromatic and most as floral; a third also find it green, woody, amber-like and leathery.

The opening is a crush of herbs: juniper for a gin-like, piney sharpness, lavender for a clean, soapy note, and mint and rosemary for a cool, bracing freshness. The heart turns warmer and stranger, with oregano adding a dry, savoury herbal note against carnation and jasmine, and amber and patchouli bringing an early earthy warmth. The base is dark and old-fashioned: castoreum for a leathery, animalic depth, caramel for a sweet counterweight, oakmoss for a mossy bitterness and labdanum for a resinous amber glow.

Most wearers report that it lasts extremely long, with more than half calling it eternal, and that it projects strongly or enormously. It is voted mainly for winter and autumn and firmly for evening. It suits someone who wants a bold, vintage-style aromatic with real presence.
