It opens with pepper and agarwood, or oud, so the start is dark, smoky and slightly medicinal with a dry, peppery edge. The heart brings rose for a rich, deep floral note, while cumin and saffron add a warm, savoury and slightly leathery spice. The base is dry and refined, as sandalwood brings creaminess, vetiver an earthy smokiness and orris root a cool, powdery softness.
