Bergamot gives a bright, short opening, quickly met by pimento, chili pepper and saffron, a hot, golden, slightly leathery spice that gives the scent its edge. The heart is a rich floral blend: rose and jasmine bring velvety and creamy notes, and Bourbon geranium and geranium a rosy-green freshness. The base is warm and resinous, with labdanum for a honeyed amber, patchouli for earthy depth and vanilla for a soft sweetness.
Brera is shared and can be worn by anyone. Its spiced rose suits autumn and winter, evenings, gallery openings and dinners, and should appeal to people who like florals with a hot, peppery character rather than a soft, sweet one.
