Rivière Siam

Rivière Siam, from the Singapore house Maison de L'Asie, was composed by Francois Merle-Baudoin and released in 2023. Flowers and leather lead together, with greenery and wood close behind and a little citrus. It is shared and worn by anyone.

Citrus notes open it with a fresh, bright lift, followed by green leaves, green notes and herbal notes that give a lush, sappy, riverside freshness. The floral heart pairs osmanthus, with its apricot-like, slightly leathery sweetness, and orange blossom, which brings a warm, honeyed glow. Orris root adds a soft, powdery, refined texture. The base is where the leather appears: suede and white suede give a soft, velvety, skin-like leather, rather than a rough or smoky one, while birch adds a hint of smoke and woody notes provide structure.

It feels elegant and calm, like a walk along a tropical river. It suits spring and autumn, daytime and refined occasions, and those who enjoy floral leathers with a green edge.
