Guns of Sakura, by the Singapore house Maison de L'Asie and composed by Antoine Lie, is a woody, musky fragrance released in 2025, with sweet, fresh, resinous and leather sides each about half as strong.

Despite the cherry blossom in its name, the composition leans towards smoke and metal. Black currant gives a tart, fruity start, but gunpowder and metallic notes soon add a sharp, flinty, struck-match edge. Frankincense brings a dry, peppery resin, and birch a smoky, leathery tar. Underneath, guaiac wood and sandalwood build a smooth, slightly smoky woody base, softened by musk.

Worn by anyone, it suggests autumn and winter, evenings and settings where an unconventional scent is welcome. It should appeal to those who like smoky, mineral woods with a fruity spark, and who enjoy fragrances that tell a story rather than simply smell pleasant.
