Roma Uomo is a woody aromatic for men from the Italian house Laura Biagiotti, composed by Annick Menardo and released in 1992. Woody is how everyone describes it, about half also find it musky, floral, ambery or citrusy, and a minority call it aromatic.
Grapefruit and bergamot open with a sharp, bitter citrus, and basil and laurel add a green, herbal freshness with a Mediterranean feel. In the heart, juniper berries bring a dry, gin-like coolness, balsam fir a green, resinous snap, and heliotrope a soft, powdery, almond sweetness that rounds the edges. The base is long and warm: sandalwood and massoia wood give a smooth, creamy woodiness, patchouli and oakmoss an earthy, mossy depth, and benzoin and amber a sweet, resinous, lasting finish.
Most wearers report moderate longevity and moderate sillage. It is voted mainly for daytime in spring and summer: a fresh, herbal opening that settles into a warm, classic woody base.
