Terre d'Hermes Parfum is a mineral, woody citrus for men, composed by Jean-Claude Ellena for Hermès and released in 2009 in parfum concentration. Citrus is the word everyone uses for it, and about half also find it green, woody or resinous.
Grapefruit and orange open, the grapefruit bitter and sharp, the orange a little sweeter, giving a bright, dry citrus. The heart is a single, unusual note: flint, a dry, stony, faintly smoky mineral quality that smells of struck stone rather than of any plant. The base is woodsy notes and oakmoss, a dry, forest-floor woodiness, with benzoin adding a soft, balsamic warmth that rounds off the austerity without making it sweet.
About half of wearers find it long lasting, and most describe the sillage as moderate. It is voted for spring and autumn and slightly more for day than night: a dry, grounded citrus for someone who likes earth and stone more than sweetness.
