Le Paradis de L'Homme

Le Paradis de L'Homme is a dense, dry woody scent from Hayari Parfums, released in 2014, composed by Dorothée Piot and marketed for men. Woody is how everyone describes it, a third also find it green, and a few notice musk or leather, which fits a composition made almost entirely of wood.

There is no fruit or citrus to speak of; it opens straight onto Atlas cedar and cedar, dry, pencil-like and slightly resinous, with papyrus adding a dusty, smoky, dry-grass note. The heart deepens with mahogany and Brazilian redwood, darker, denser woods with a faint reddish warmth, and sandalwood softens them with a creamy smoothness. The base is where the green and leather sides appear: oakmoss and moss bring a damp, bitter, forest-floor depth, vetiver a smoky, rooty dryness, leather a smooth, slightly animalic richness, and musk a soft finish.

It is a scent for autumn and winter, daytime or evening, for men who like woods on their own, serious and unsweetened, with moss and leather for depth.
