NFI, a 2023 fragrance from the Romanian house Grammatik Drammatik composed by Chris Maurice, is mainly woody, with a strong citrus side and smaller spicy, floral, resinous and aromatic touches.
The top notes are bright and herbal: lemon and mandarin orange bring a fresh, zesty sparkle, while cardamom adds a cool, aromatic spice and lavender a clean, calming herbal note. In the heart, myrrh gives a soft, slightly bitter and balsamic resin, cypriol a smoky, earthy woodiness, cedar a dry structure and jasmine a gentle floral warmth. The base is earthy and dry: patchouli adds depth, vetiver a rooty, smoky dryness, lichen a damp, mossy and mineral note and musk a smooth finish.
The profile suggests spring and autumn, daytime and the office, as well as casual evenings when a fresh but grounded scent is wanted. It is meant to be worn by anyone who likes citrus-topped woods with an earthy, mossy depth and a quiet resinous thread.
