Extravagance d'Amarige, released by Givenchy in 1998 and composed by Michel Girard, is a bright, fruity floral. Florals lead, with sweetness and woods at half that strength and spicy, green and citrus touches.

The opening is green and zesty: green mandarin gives a sharp citrus, violet leaf and nettle a crisp greenness, marigold a bitter herbal edge and pink pepper a light spice. The heart is a cheerful bouquet, with orange blossom, wisteria and jasmine giving a sweet, airy floral glow, and strawberry a juicy red fruitiness. The base is sandalwood, amber, more strawberry, iris and cedar, a creamy, warm and slightly powdery finish.

Most wearers report moderate longevity, some long lasting, and a moderate sillage. It is voted for spring and summer and is mostly worn by day. Marketed for women, it suits casual days, lunches and warm weather, and anyone who likes green, fruity florals with a playful strawberry note.
