Los Angeles by Gallivant is a fresh, musky floral with an unusual green and marine twist, released by the British house in 2019 and composed by Karine Chevallier. It is worn by anyone.
The opening is bright and a little unexpected: pineapple and mandarin give a juicy, sun-warmed sweetness, while eucalyptus and clary sage add a cool, herbal sharpness that smells like a breeze through a garden. The heart brings tuberose and narcissus, creamy white flowers with a slightly green, hay-like edge, lifted by sea notes that keep the florals airy rather than heady. The base is soft and sandy, with musk and heliotrope giving a powdery, skin-like warmth, guaiac wood and cade adding a faint smokiness, and cypriol a dry, earthy finish.
It reads as a clean, outdoors sort of scent, well suited to warm days and casual wear. Anyone who likes fresh florals with a bit of character rather than pure sweetness should get on with it.
