Spice leads from the start: coriander, caraway and clove give a warm, slightly savoury, bazaar-like opening, while bergamot adds a touch of brightness and saffron a leathery, golden warmth. Apricot and pear bring a soft, ripe sweetness to the middle, paired with jasmine and iris, which add a smooth floral layer and a hint of cool powder. The base is gently sweet and resinous, with benzoin and amber giving warmth, musk a soft finish and woody notes a dry anchor.
It suits autumn and winter and evening wear in particular. Anyone who likes spice-forward scents softened by fruit and flowers, rather than smoky or heavy ones, should find Bukhara appealing.
