Abu Dhabi

Named for a city, Abu Dhabi is part of the travel-themed line from Gallivant, a British house; it was composed by Lucas Sieuzac and released in 2022. People describe it first as woody, then as spicy and floral in roughly equal measure, with a minority finding it green, aromatic or leathery.

Saffron and pink pepper open it with a warm, slightly leathery spice. Rosemary and clary sage add a herbal, almost dusty freshness, and geranium contributes a rosy, green floral tone. Orris root gives the heart a cool, powdery, suede-like texture that softens the spice. The base is built from cypress and cedar, which bring dry, resinous woodiness, with leather and patchouli adding depth and a touch of earthiness.
