Oceanoir by Coreterno is a 2024 fragrance by Luca Maffei that leads with citrus, then leans woody and fresh, with green, amber and a faint gourmand note in the background. It reads like a dark, salty seascape rather than a classic clean aquatic.
Grapefruit, bergamot and bitter orange give a sharp, bracing start, joined by blackcurrant and its leafy buds for a tart, green fruitiness. Salt and seaweed bring the marine side: mineral, briny and a little smoky. Pine tar adds a resinous, tarry darkness that explains the name, while saffron and davana lend a warm, slightly boozy fruit-spice. The base settles into sandalwood, amberwood, vetiver and musk, dry and gently radiant.
It is worn by anyone and suits people who like sea-inspired scents but want more depth and shadow than the usual fresh blue style. The brightness makes it workable on warm days, while the tar and woods suggest evenings by the coast, autumn walks and moments when a fresher fragrance would feel too light.
