Burgundy Oud

Burgundy Oud by Atelier Materi balances spice, woods and flowers equally, with sweet, leather and citrus sides in support. Céline Perdriel composed it, it was released in 2024, and it is worn by anyone.

Bergamot opens it with a bright citrus sparkle, while cardamom, including Guatemalan cardamom, adds a cool, aromatic spice. Black currant and davana bring a dark, jammy and slightly boozy fruitiness, like red wine, which suits the burgundy of the name. In the heart, geranium and magnolia give a fresh, creamy floral note. The base is dark and textured, with agarwood (oud) giving a resinous, smoky woodiness, leather a smooth richness and amyris a soft, balsamic wood.

Rich and refined, it suits autumn and winter, for evenings, dinners and special occasions. Anyone who likes oud with a dark, winey fruitiness, a fresh spicy opening and a leathery base will find it a characterful, elegant choice. It feels deep and warm without being heavy.
