Rosarium

Rosarium by Angela Ciampagna, composed by the brand's founder in 2015 and worn by anyone, is a woody scent built around honey and seeds rather than the rose its name suggests. Woodiness is what everyone agrees on; most also describe it as sweet, and a third find it musky, floral and amber-like.

Honey and carrot seeds open it, the honey golden and slightly animalic, the carrot seed earthy, dry and faintly iris-like, which together give an unusual, rooty sweetness. The heart adds violet for a soft, powdery floral touch, juniper berries for a gin-like, piney sharpness, celery seeds for a green, savoury, slightly bitter note and woody notes for structure. The base is vetiver and cedar for a dry, earthy wood, incense for a cool smoke, vanilla for sweetness and musk to soften the finish.

It reads as a quiet, earthy fragrance for autumn and cooler days, suited to someone who likes natural, slightly strange scents that smell of a garden's roots and seeds rather than its flowers.
