Sublime Rose

Sublime Rose by the Spanish house Angel Schlesser, composed by Hamid Merati-Kashani and released in 2020, is a woody fragrance first, with spice and rose in equal support. It is made to be worn by anyone.

The composition is built on just four notes. Rose provides the floral heart, round and velvety, but here it is framed rather than left to bloom on its own. Saffron adds a warm, leathery and slightly honeyed spice that gives the rose depth and a darker, more exotic tone. Cypress and cypress leaf bring a dry, resinous and green woodiness, with a fresh, almost coniferous edge that keeps the composition crisp and stops the rose from becoming too sweet.

The pairing of rose and saffron over resinous cypress gives it a refined, slightly austere character. It suits autumn and winter, evenings and smarter occasions, and also works on cool spring days.
