Parisienne, created for Yves Saint Laurent in 2009 by Sophia Grojsman and Sophie Labbé, is a floral fragrance for women. Two thirds of wearers also find it gourmand and woody, and a third musky.
The opening is unusual: cranberry and blackberry give a tart, dark fruit, and a vinyl note adds a glossy, slightly synthetic sheen that sets it apart from a conventional fruity start. The heart is a soft bouquet of Damask rose, violet and peony, with violet bringing a sweet, powdery, lipstick-like quality and peony a fresh petal. The base of vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli and musk is dry and woody, with vetiver adding a smoky earthiness that grounds the fruit.
About half of wearers find the longevity moderate and a quarter call it weak. Sillage is moderate for most and intimate for a quarter. It is voted for spring and then summer and mostly for daytime, suiting a polished, modern floral for everyday wear.
