English Lavender is a green, aromatic scent, with woody, fresh, floral and citrus sides in roughly equal measure. It is the long-running lavender from the British house Yardley, dated to 1801.
It opens as you would expect from the name: lavender in front, with rosemary and eucalyptus making it sharper and more herbal, and bergamot adding brightness. The heart keeps the garden theme with clary sage and geranium, which are green and a little rosy, over a dry line of cedar. The base is where it softens: tonka bean brings a gentle hay-like sweetness, oakmoss gives a cool, earthy depth, and musk smooths the finish.
It is listed as feminine, though lavender of this type is often worn by anyone. There are no wear reports yet, so nothing firm can be said about longevity or projection; it is a classic, clean style suited to daytime and warmer weather.
