Eros by Versace, composed by Aurélien Guichard and released in 2012, is a sweet woody scent for men that pairs a fresh, minty opening with a vanilla base. People describe it as gourmand and woody in equal measure, with floral, aromatic, amber and citrus sides.
It opens with mint, green apple and lemon, cool and crisp, almost like a boiled sweet. The heart is tonka bean and ambroxan, which bring a creamy, slightly salty warmth, with geranium adding a green, rosy edge. The base is Madagascar vanilla over Virginia and Atlas cedar, vetiver and oakmoss, so the sweetness sits on a dry, woody, mossy floor.
About half of wearers report long-lasting performance, and the trail is split between moderate and strong. It is voted a little more for spring and summer than other seasons, and evenly for day and night. It suits someone who wants a sweet, fresh, confident scent that works for going out as well as everyday wear.
