The opening is cherry three ways: black cherry, cherry liqueur and bitter almond, so it smells like the fruit, the drink and the stone at once, boozy and marzipan-like rather than candied. The heart adds sour cherry and plum for tartness, with Turkish rose giving a floral lift. The base is long and warm, with tonka bean for sweetness, Peru balsam for a resinous depth, cinnamon for spice and sandalwood to keep it from collapsing into syrup.
Longevity is moderate for the largest group and long lasting for about a quarter, and most find the sillage moderate. Autumn and winter lead the votes, with night ahead of day, so it belongs to cold evenings and anyone who likes a boozy, almond-edged fruit scent.
