L’Air du Désert Marocain Noir

Woody, green and citrus-bright, L’Air du Désert Marocain Noir is a 2025 release from the Swiss house Tauer Perfumes, composed by Andy Tauer himself. Spice, resin and a thread of leather give it a darker cast than its clean opening suggests.

It begins with bergamot and lemon, a sharp citrus with a leafy edge that feels fresh and slightly bitter, with a dusting of spices adding warmth from the start. The heart turns more shadowy: jasmine brings a floral glow, labdanum a sticky, ambery resin, and leather a smooth, slightly smoky texture. The base is where the woods take over, with cedar and vetiver giving dry, earthy structure, oakmoss a mossy green depth and patchouli a rich, earthy warmth that lingers longest.
